Shelly Glaser (L) and Sherry Glaser (R)

I am deeply impressed with the wisdom and determination emergent in The First Practical Handbook for Crazy People. Rare and inspiring to meet and experience a clear-voiced woman who is committed to self-healing and being well, and uses many practical and valuable tools to do so. This is what psychology should be: tools and knowledge for Every Person to inquire, investigate, experiment, understand and so heal herself and the world around her.
--Lauren J. Oliver, Clinical Psychologist

This book is simple and concise, gentle but direct. Very helpful to anyone who is dealing with mental illness or who knows someone who is. This is a guide on how to get through it, on how to get over it, and how to get to the other side. —Shyla Weathers

Paperback was released on Sept. 6, 2016!

Origins and Off-Broadway Success

Sherry Glaser, born and raised in New York, is the star and creator of FAMILY SECRETS. The award-winning show still holds the title of Off-Broadway's longest running one-woman show.

She developed her passion for solo performance while practicing improvisation in the early 80s in San Diego with Whoopi Goldberg, Mo Gaffney and Kathy Najimy. During this time, she decided to meld her painfully hilarious life in art, and created her first solo show (written with her then-husband, Greg Howells): COPING. The couple moved to Los Angeles in '89 after Sherry received a contract from Warner Brothers Studio.

Hollywood didn't know what to do with Sherry, so she changed the title of her one-woman show from COPING to FAMILY SECRETS, and ended up taking it to Off-Broadway where it flourished.

Personal Tragedy
After the show closed, Sherry moved with her family to Mendocino where she and Howells developed OH MY GODDESS! (then titled THE SECOND COMING). L.A. previews were well received and plans were made to take the one-woman show to New York. But then...

Sherry's husband vanished.

Devastated, Sherry had to rebuild her life and cope with what would be an unsolved mystery.
